Three stars to shine at Lingfield – Novices’ Hurdle Preview
Forest Row Novices’ Hurdle is scheduled to be held at Lingfield horseracing track on Thursday, February 23. The Class 4 race of 2m3f110y distance will begin at 2:20 (GMT). The total prize money for the contest is £2,669.
The ace event has 13 entries including Di Kaprio, Joseph Lister, Abra Abra Cadabra, African Eagle, Barlow, Hatters River, John’s Gem, Martial Law, Mr Hooper, Shaddaii, Veratan, Who Owns Me and Yacht London Lady.
Here we pick three star runners who are expected to fill top three boxes on the results card. Let us take a look on the career chart of each of these favourites.
Joseph Lister
The champion trainer Nicky Henderson’s talented black gelding has been performing well for last four months. After finishing 2nd each in two consecutive races during November 2011, the five-year-old runner accomplished a marvellous victory on
January 4, 2012 at Huntingdon track.
In his last outing on January 21 at Ascot, the N J Henderson-owned gelding performed well again and finished 4th. He was 4-1 favourite for that race. Thus, the young runner seems to be in good form which will definitely help him thrive at Lingfield
today. He has 90 percent chances to finish 1st.
Mr Hooper
In his first and last race on March 24, 2011, the trainee of Victor Dartnall delivered an outstanding performance and beat a dozen of rivals to notch up the top spot. Since then, the black gelding has been resting. As the novice runner is preparing for the
action again, it is hoped that he will do well today and finish at least 2nd at Lingfield.
Yacht London Lady
Brendan Powell’s black mare made her debut on December 26, 2011. In her maiden race, the six-year-old runner finished 3rd against 10 competitors. She went on to grab 2nd position in her second and last race on January 25, 2012.
These two starts have exposed the mare’s skills properly. She is now expected to show a decent run at Lingfield and achieve at least third top position.
Conclusion
Apart from the above favourite trio, some other runners too possess enough firepower. Thus, the Forest Row is going to be a close and tough competition. A large number of spectators are likely to turn out to the venue. Let us get ready for the action. Good
luck to all the entries.
