"The best if you wanted to save A LOT of gas,and commute well, would be a Smart car. Also lately i have been seeing cars that have 3 wheels, and get good gas mileage and are good for commute, i don't know the name of them but they have 3 wheels, so you could look it up."

The only one I know of is the Aptera (http://www.aptera.com/), and I thought that wasn't in production yet. So what's on the road now that has three wheels and good mileage?

  2. Three wheels now. Then two wheels in a few years. Just like some third world countries.

  3. Here are a few more for you to see.....

  4. There is a new three-wheeled vehicle coming out in July of 2008 called the TRI-FUN. They are already in production and a U.S. dealer network has already begun. My husband, who has been a franchised motorcycle dealer for 31 years (been in this industry even longer) will be one of their first dealers to receive them.

They were initially not road legal in our state (Ohio) but he and I have been working with our Dept. of Public Safety, our Congressman and Senator. It only took about two months to get some language cleaned up in the current motorcycle laws and now these will be legal as of September of 2008.

Although the TRI-FUN's are considered a motorcycle, they are more like a car or truck since they have both models available along with a mini-style van. The only thing that separates the two is the three wheels they have and a front (heavy-duty) fork that holds the wheel on. Everything else is all car, oh and they have mini truck also!

These will sell for $9995 for truck and $10,995 for car. They get at least 42 mpg (even better with upgrades that were made to prototype but no official report yet). They top speed around 75 mph.  TRI-FUN's have a Wuling (GM) 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, 970 cc mid-engine and 5-speed overdrive transmission, Delphi electronic fuel injection,  rack & pinion steering, coil springs front internal shocks and leaf springs rear overload shocks, 7 gallon gas tank, 13" wheels with radial tires, and even a high tech stereo system that includes AM/FM, CD player, IPOD ready and MP3 input.

But the best thing about them is that they are just plain FUN to drive. I mean, come on, this is like a motorcycle on steroids! We can't wait to get these in. Already we have been contacted to The Associated Press, two city television news stations (yes, hubby was on air) and published in several newspapers about the imminent debut of these babies.

Anyone can check these out at www.trifun.com or you can contact me at patty.runyon_64@yahoo.com for more serious follow-up on these new radical three-wheelers that will take the market by storm!
