Three wires?

I have a CPU fan that I want to hook up to a wall outlet, there are 3 wires coming out of the fan white, black, and red. Which one will need to be hooked up to positive and which one will need to be hooked up to ground? Thanks.

  1. red is positive, black is ground, and white will be the "switch"... when this wire has current, it will make the fan turn on.
