Is three of learning ( everyday ) yrs enough time to be REALLY fluent in a foreign language , i intend to study two or three foreign languages to be a translator .

is it possible ?

There's this guy , a dutch painter Ivan Agueli who taught himself 16 languages in less than 10 yrs so i'm thinking it's in the technique?

thanks ;-)

  1. Three? you would have to be very dedicated and committed, normally three is barely enough for 1 or less. to be fluent

  2. Yes it's enough time. However, you will not become fluent enough to become a translator, unless you spend a significant amount of that time immersed in the language by living in a country that speaks it.

  3. Pretty much yes, but it probably requires a total immersion school like the Monterey Institute (which was the Army language training center originally.) The language you are  learning is the only  one you hear, which makes a big difference.
