Question:

Threw my receipt away for my PS3. Could I ripoff Wal-Mart in order to get a new PS3?

I bought my 80GB PS3 from a local gaming store 7 months ago. Now my PS3 has to be sent in for repairs (it won't read ANY discs). Unfortunately, I threw my receipt away a while ago.

Although it's not exactly legal, would it work (perhaps someone has done this before?) if I bought a new 80GB PS3 from Wal-Mart, and then the next day took my broken PS3 (in the box that my new one came in) to Wal-Mart -posing as the new one I just bought- to get my money back.

Or does anyone have any other ideas? I just really don't want to pay the $160 to get it repaired or wait for the month or 2 it takes to ship it in and get it back.

  6. no you can not do that and why i say no you cant is cuz i have taken back a few times a few ps3s that work really broken that where a few days old from walmart anyways the sealer number of your new ps3 you get from walmart will be on your receipt and if you try to take back your broken one they are going to check the sealer numbers to make sure they match and if they dont match then they are not going to let you take it back walmart has got really smart i did not think they new what they was doing but i was worng they do so it wont work not only that they will hound you like you broke it and give you a hard time about takein it back
