Question:

Thrill ride after-effects?

Last time I went to Kings Island, I didn't ride any coasters but I certainly enjoyed me some thrill rides.

I rode Delirium first, then Drop Tower, then Delirium, then Drop Tower 2 more times. I was fine until I got in my car.. and I had barely driven 50 feet when suddenly I got so nauseous that I honestly felt like I was going to throw up. I had to stop and park until the feeling went away. I have never gotten sick on a ride or coaster so I thought this was very strange.

Anything like this happen to anyone else?

  2. I've never experienced anything like that.  The only thing I have ever experienced has been the loss of balance and the only time that occurred was when I rode Mission Space at Epcot like 5 times in a row.

  3. Yeah, It has never happened to me, but I have heard about, its an like an incubation period, you feel fine for a while, but eventually it gets to you

  4. no-you're knocked up

  5. Hey there.

Yes, it has. I've had the same thing happen to myself as well as it has happened to friends of mine. I love thrill rides and extreme sports and this is not an uncommon effect.

While you're on the rides and running around in the park, adrenaline helps keep your mind clear and sharp, but as soon as you get to your car your body can finally relax and start to recover from the stress of thrill rides. That's when you notice how it's affected your balance centre and blood pressure etc., and you start to feel sick.

Why it happened this time and not before is more difficult to answer. It could be any of a number of things. For one it's normal that our bodies can't take as much excitement as we get older; your grandmother probably don't feel good on the Drop Tower^-^. Me, I'm not even 30 yet but I can't do the sideway-spin rides anymore. Up and down, back and forth are still fine, but sideways makes me sick. It could also be something simpler; perhaps you didn't eat or drink enough while at the park...? or your body was tired from a stressful work/school week, or a late night out...? Worst case scenario you might have a small ear infection that when tossed around on rides triggered your nausea.

If you feel find at all other times, in vehicles, sitting up, lying down, walking up and down stairs, or doing anything else that can be considered everyday life activities then I wouldn't worry too much.

    Hope this answer helps.
