Thrilling contest in prospect in Salacresracingteam.com Grand National Round 1 Heat 2
A close competition amongst greyhounds is expected in the Salacresracingteam.com Grand National Round 1 Heat 2 at Harold’s Cross in Ireland on Monday, October 15, 2012. Most of the runners have been struggling for consistency, thus they will find it quite
hard to make an impression in the end.
However, anything can be possible in the 525 yard race over hurdles, which is scheduled to kick off at 20:40 GMT. The winner of the Grade OR event will be awarded a cash prize of €50 in the end.
Looking at the performances of all the runners, it is quite difficult to judge the winner accurately. Therefore, the punters will be in a difficult position at the moment, as they will be the ones risking their money in the end.
According to the bookmakers, the best chances of victory are with Lenson Teddy, despite the fact that he has not appeared in too many hurdles. He has mostly represented his team in flat races and his performances in them have been really good. Judging by
that, he has been given a general starting price of 6 to 4.
However, the bettors might be a touch hesitant over risking money in favour of the blue dog. He has got a lot of experience, thus he is expected to handle pressure well in today’s race. He will need to come up with a special run in order to meet the expectations
of everyone.
The Williams’ trained hound took part in a solo run at Harold’s Cross recently. He ran over hurdles in order to get used to the conditions at this venue. Despite that, things will not be easy for him, as it is a different game altogether to compete in a
race at this level. He will be entering from trap number one and will be hoping to gain some early momentum.
On the other hand, Clonkeen Theo has raced in too many races over hurdles and is well aware of how to perform in this format. He has enjoyed a pretty good time during the 2012 season, but his recent form has not been much impressive.
The J. Foster’s trainee finished fifth in his most recent Grade OR outing and will need a much better effort than that in order to shine today.
