Question:

Throat hurts following alchohol consumption?

I'm not a heavy drinker, but drink occasionally. I would go for the Bacardi.

However, I have one problem. No matter how little or how much I drink high concentrated drinks (40%-75%), even if I mix it with something else: e.g., rum and coke, I get a sore throat after.

I had a case that got so bad that I had to avoid talking to other people for 14 days because my throat hurt every time I opened it, spoke, or swallowed.

How do I avoid such problems? I want to drink without worries.

  1. It sounds like you aren't used to drinking hard rum.  I've had two friends who both got an infections from taking too many shots.   On the other hand I use 151 to get rid of colds.

IMO, I think the alcohol is is just irritating your throat.

  2. That's like, a duh answer. if your throat hurts after u drink alchahol then don't drink alchahol unless you want a sore throat.  or go see a doctor and see if you are allergic to certain kinds of alchahol or all alchahol so you know what you can and can't drink...

  3. Quit Drinking - you know there are people who are allergic to alcohol.

  4. It sounds like you are allergic to something- the mix, alcohol, not sure.  You should start writing down all of the information to figure out- then perhaps take it to your doctor!
