Question:

Through what insurance can I find the best dental and vision coverage?

I don't have insurance at my workplace so I am in need of dental work and vision pretty soon here. I'd like to beat it to the punch before it becomes an emergency if I could.

Can anyone point me to the right direction?

  1. Discount plans offer a great alternative to typical insurance. You have greater flexibility, no waiting periods, approve cosmetics procedures, you'll know the cost upfront and the savings can be up to 50-80 percent. Many also offer vision, prescription and chiropractic plans for free. These plans usually average around $25 monthly vs. $100s monthly on insurance plans.  You simply compare plans by entering your zip code and find providers in your area. I honestly believe this is the most economical way to pay for dental after having various typical insurance plans and having 3 kids ... lot of teeth to pay to keep clean and in braces ... I save over 50% on braces and financed the rest - that's what convinced me.

  2. I have looked, and I haven't seen any private dental or vision insurance policies that pay out more than they cost.  They have limits, and waiting periods, and high copays.

You're probably best off, paying out of pocket.

  3. You could check out http://mysite.verizon.net/ressg6c7/artic... this site list some of the top sites plus they show you how to save money on all types of insurance including dental.

  4. I would encourage a visit to this site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years for all my dental and vision services and they have saved me thousands since. From exams, xrays, cleanings, contacts...etc. all services are included in this very affordable plan. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. hope this helps.

  5. I've always been a fan of StarsDental Personal Dental Plans:

    http://starsdental.com/

The only other one I'd consider is Aetna's Individual Dental Plan,, but it doesn't compare to Stars.

Try this site if you want to compare a bunch at once:

    http://www.dentalplans.com/

You'll find that Stars is a TON cheaper.  Don't be fooled by Star's extremely simple website.  I've sold a bunch of StarsDental plans pretty easily.
