Throw light on changing facets of Indian Marriage?

Throwing "light" on it is a good turn of phrase, given what I think about Indian marriage, that Indian marriage has been in the Dark Ages for way too long.  The caste system is a way outdated system.  It is an anachronism in the 21st century.  Furthermore, it is a thinly veiled system of oppression.  It needs to be removed from marriage consideration completely.  At least Indian culture seems to be slowly moving in that direction.
