Thulasi P C hammers Ihsaniaty Putri in first round of the Indonesia International Challenge 2011
India’s talented shuttler, Thulasi P C hammered Indonesia’s Ihsaniaty Putri in the Women’s Singles first round of the Victor Indonesia International Challenge 2011, in Surabaya, Indonesia, on Tuesday, July 19.
The Indian stunned the local shuttler by playing top-class badminton and took only 25 minutes to prove her skills against the Indonesian, who was unable to play well in both sets of the match. Thulasi’s control over the pace of the bird was just incredible,
as she made no mistake in the match and won it in impressive fashion.
The opening game of the match was a completely one-sided affair, as the Indian sailed smoothly throughout the set because her opponent was not playing that well. Despite having the support of the local crowd, Ihsaniaty failed to produce better shots against
a spirited Thulasi, who was dominant in the court.
The Indian proved that she is among the best shuttlers of the tournament, as she played with distinction in the whole opening set. Thulasi was miles ahead of her Indonesian challenger, who was not playing a fast game. Until the interval, the Indian managed
a wonderful lead of 11-4.
After the break, the Indonesian tried to play better badminton, but she had no answer to the planned game of her rival. Thulasi easily grabbed the opening game in wonderful fashion with a huge difference of 21-8, in just 10 minutes.
The second game was somewhat interesting, where the Indonesian played a little better as she increased the speed in her play. The game was close until the end of the opening half of the set, where Putri was three points behind her opponent at 8-11.
After the break, the Indian geared up the speed of her strokes and started to dominate the game. She faced no trouble from her opponent in the second-half of the set. Thulasi emerged as the winner in the second game with a good difference of 21-14, in just
15 minutes. This opening round match ended in just 25 minutes, with the score of 21-8 and 21-14.
