I have owned my Mazda since I purchased it new in May of 2004. The car has a little over 60,000 miles on it. (mostly freeway miles). Latley I have been hearing a thumping noise (best way I can describe it) when I travel down the road. The thumping seems to be in rhythm with the rotation of the tires. Slower as I travel at slower speeds and faster while I travel at faster speeds. I believe it may be a problem associated with my roters. There is always a squeaking sound from the wheel the first time I break after starting my car in the morning for work.

  1. It could be the wheel bearings. I would take it to a mechanic and get it checked out. I had that problem in the mornings on my Nissan Maxima and it was my my wheel bearings. Also go to a place that specializes in brakes, that should help.

  2. good bet you have a bad tire....but squeaking is a sign of wore brake pads.. be smart to have it check before they grinds or you blow a tire... cost much less than a tow truck and repairing damage
