  1. lightening strikes

    lightening bolts

    thunder bolts

    thunder strikes

    they all ok

    all mean the same

    why worry

    it says what you mean

  2. It is

    Lightining Strikes

  3. A lightning (no "e") bolt strikes, and as a result, we hear thunder.

Lightening (with an "e") doesn't strike or bolt - it makes something that is dark become less dark - as in "Spilling bleach on my dark clothes caused lightening of the fabric"

  4. lightening can "strike"  (verb-action) and is also referred to as a lightening bolt (noun)

also, thunder cannot "bolt" or strike - thats silly :)   thunder rumbles

  5. Thunder is just the sonic boom that is caused by lightning. There's no such thing as thunder bolt or thunder strike.

So, say "lightning strike" if you're talking about the effect that lightning causes, and "lightning bolt" if you're talking about lightning itself.

  6. "Lightning strikes" if you are talking noun/verb

"Lightning bolts" if you are just talking about lightning (no verb).
