i got a ticket for reckless driving (doing doughnuts)in a public parking lot is that legal

  1. Doing donuts is not legal,  it is considered reckless driving.    

    At least you were in a parking lot, not on the street,  but you still could possibly endanger someone if you didn't see them.  

    Looks like you got one to pay,  the cost of playing silly games in a vehicle.

  5. police job to protect the citizens. Driving like that in a public lot endangers citizens. Technically, he can't give you a ticket on private property, but the judge probably won't side with you.

Depends on where you live.  In Arkansas they would only be able to get you for disturbing the peace or something similar as a parking lot isn't under traffic law jurisdiction.  Go talk to a local lawyer (normally they'll charge a 25 dollar consultation fee) one that deals with traffic law like DWI's.  Thats the best source for your answer!
