Tickets prices unchanged for 2013 season – MLB Boston Red Sox News
According to a leading sports website, Boston Red Sox are doing some rethink to get the fans back to the stadium. After having one of their worst seasons in nearly 50 years, the Red Sox are working hard to retain their fans.
''It was abundantly clear this year that we should hold the line on ticket prices,'' team president Larry Lucchino said Monday. ''Over the past few years, we have fallen short of our goals to play postseason baseball. Through it all, fans have shown their
deep loyalty and support, for which we are all grateful.''
With some of the best hitters and pitchers on their league roster, the Red Sox were the fans favourites before the start of the season but things are looking slightly different at the moment.
The source revealed that the price range for individual tickets will start from $12 for the upper bleachers to $165 for a seat above the Green Monster in the field.
Season tickets will be sold at the same price. To attract more viewership, the Red Sox management kept prices the same for the 2009 and 2012 seasons as well.
The Red Sox finished 2012 regular season at the bottom of American League East Division standings table. Their .426 win percentage was their lowest in Major League Baseball since 1965, when they finished at 62-100.
Boston will be looking to work hard on the weaker links of their game play to restore their lost pride in the next season. They are certainly more capable than 69-93. After firing Bobby Valentine, the Red Sox have been interviewing coaches across the country
for the available coaching vacancy.
New York Yankees’ bench coach Tony Pena was the second person to be interviewed by the Red Sox. The former Kansas City Royals’ Manager had a meeting with the management on Monday. Los Angeles Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach is also one of the candidates.
However, Toronto Blue Jays’ Manager John Farrell seems to be at the of the Red Sox list since he has worked with this club before. The Red Sox will be looking to work out compensation with the Blue Jays during the offseason.
