Tien Chen Chou ousts Suppanyu Avihingsanon in qualifying round of Korea Open Premier Super Series
Chinese Taipei’s Tien Chen Chou has proved his elevated skills as he has stamped his supremacy over Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon in the Men’s Singles qualifying round of the 2012 Korea Open Premier Super Series, on Tuesday, January 3, in South Korea.
The Taipei shuttler played tremendous badminton in his encounter against Suppanyu and ended it in straight games without losing even a single set. He worked well for 38 minutes in the court and stamped his mark over his rival in an impressive fashion.
The opening game was very tough when both players remained close until the ending phase when Tien Chen played positive badminton and took the game with a tight score. In the following game, they played at the same speed throughout the set and again it was
the Taipei shuttler who ended the game with a close margin.
The start of this Men’s Singles qualifying-round fight was quite entertaining as both men played attacking badminton and progressed closely.
Taipei shuttler played aggressive badminton while his opponent was relying on powerful drives in all areas of the court. No one could take lead until the one-minute interval in the first half.
After the break, they continued playing at the same speed and entered into the ending phase without setting up any lead. At this stage, Tien Chen played smart badminton and finished up the set with a margin of 21-19.
In the following set of the match, it was Suppanyu who dominated the game in the opening rallies as he played with wonderful aggression. His smashes landed in the gaps and he maintained pressure on his challenger. However, Tien Chen also remained close until
the break in the second set.
After taking rest for 60 second, both shuttler again locked horns and remained toe-to-toe until the score reached at 20-20. At this breath-taking stage, the Taipei shuttler geared up his speed and anticipated the strokes of his opponent.
His wonderful execution of shots in the final moments of the second game helped him to finish the set with a margin of 22-20. This 38-minute contest ended up with a margin of 21-19 and 22-20.
