Tien Chen Chou outshines Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo in Men’s Singles semi-final at Chinese Taipei Open
Chinese Taipei’s talented shuttler Tien Chen Chou stole the limelight by reaching into Men’s Singles final after showing exit to Indonesia’s Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo in semi-final clash at the Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Chinese Taipei, on Saturday,
October 6.
The in-form Tien Chen, who has been working hard to elevate his skills in all departments of the game, remained successful in making his presence felt by beating his talented Indonesia rival in 41 minutes.
Backed by the huge home fans, Tien Chen was in superb form on court as he played with incredible speed and managed to end up the contest in straight games with a decent margin.
Wisnu Yuli, on the other hand, failed to put up strong show as he could not put up strong show against his local challenger and eventually knelt down to him without snatching any set in this semi-final contest.
In the first game, the Indonesian shuttler got shocked with the attacking and positive play of his opponent and remained struggling to find a good rhythm.
In the meanwhile, Tien Chen was in comfortable position as he did not commit any mistake on court and managed to set up a wonderful gap until the end of opening half.
After the break, Tien Chen remained on track by playing at the similar speed in all areas of the court. His powerful smashes and net killings pushed Wisnu in a completely vulnerable position.
The impressive Tien Chen was quite smooth in his movement in all corners and he easily bagged the first set with a staggering 21-11 score on the board.
In the second game, Wisnu also showed his brilliance on court and he troubled his rival by executing powerful smashes.
Both players were toe-to-toe in the opening half of second set and not one could manage a comfortable lead until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, the game continued in the similar fashion as no one could manage a lead until the score reached at 21-21 when Tien Chen played smart game and took the set with a margin of 23-21.
Tien Chen stamped his mark over Wisnu in straight sets in 41 minutes with a 21-11 and 23-21 score on the board.
