Tien Chen Chou tames Chun Seang Tan to claim Men’s Singles title at Norwegian International 2012
Chinese Taipei’s impressive player Tien Chen Chou continued his winning run and claimed Men’s Singles title after crushing his higher ranked opponents Chun Seang Tan of Malaysia in the final battle of Norwegian International 2012 in Norway, on Sunday, November
18.
The in-form Tien Chen, who was the second seeded player in Men’s Singles draw of the championship, did not show any sign of pressure all the way in the arena and easily toppled the top seeded Chen Seang by taking just 32 minutes.
Taipei shuttler was confident in the court and he controlled his nerves on crucial stages in the match. He remained in commanding position throughout the title match and finished it up in a tremendous manner with a huge margin in straight games.
The higher ranked Chun Seang, on the other hand, failed to maintain his positive run in the tournament as he played quivering badminton in the final battle which cost him title as he lost the battle without winning any set.
Both shuttlers showed a superb fight in the first set when they played with aggression and pushed each other everywhere in the court.
However, the phenomenal variations in Tien Chen’s shots helped him to create a small gap on score board and he started to control the pace of rallies.
Until the one-minute break, the second seeded Tien Chen did not show any mercy to his Malaysian rival and set up a reasonable lead on score board.
After the mid-game interval, Tien Chen continued progressing in the similar fashion as he did not lose his focus at any stage and eventually took the first game with a reasonable 21-17 score on the board.
In the second game, Tien Chen did not show any mercy to Chun Seang as he played to his maximum potential and remained ahead until the break.
After the break, the in-form Taipei shuttler remained on the driving seat all the way to end up the game with a spectacular margin of 21-12.
The impressive Tien Chen emerged as the winner in this final battle in straight games with a dominating 21-17 and 21-12 score on the board.
