Question:

Tiger Barbs changing color?

Ok....I have noticed that my Tiger Barbs are changing color, their black stripes are turning an emerald green! Is this natural? I feed the tropical flakes, and granules, they also like to eat on the algae wafers that I put into the tank for my clown loach. I'm just curious about it, I certainly hope that this doesn't mean that they are sick....I am exited about my new additions ( who are in a quarantine tank ) I just picked up 2 more Clown Loaches, 2 Panda Cories, and 2 Kuhli Loaches...all are very active and eating already....great signs. I am done with adding additions....even though it is fun..and almost irrisistable!

  1. To me it sounds like they are the moss green tiger barbs, where i work we have several varieties of tiger barbs in on tank and they do inherit traits from their parents that show up later than others and it usually means that you have bought juveniles that have not yet got their colour so it is nothing to worry about.

    Hope this helps

P.S  glad to hear that your panda corys are ok as they are my favourite fish and i have 7 myself
