Tiger Swallowtail Caterpillar turning into a butterfly?

i found a Tiger Swallowtail Caterpillar two days ago and it looks as if it is about to start turning into a butterfly, it has 1 web around it to hold it onto the stick, but i think it might have died in the process i'm not sure, it's not moving at all, and no process has been happening over the last couple hours. how long does it take for a Caterpillar to build a ca coon? and do you think its alive, just buy what i said?

Swallowtails spin a silk loop around back of their chrysalids to hold them up. Does the chrysalis look complete? (Like a dead leaf) Once they get going on making a chrysalis, it can take hours for it to complete. I would just leave it alone and observe. If it is dead, you'll know soon enough.
