Tiger Woods, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Bae Sang-moon are paired at the Masters
Tiger Woods, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Bae Sang-moon are grouped together at the Masters Tournament, starting this week from April 5 to 8, 2012.
These three professionals will tee off on Thursday and will play the first two rounds at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
Woods has won three Masters titles in 1997, 2001 and 2005. He also tied for the top position in 2002 with Retief Goosen.
The 36-year-old American is also a 14-time major champion and is looking forward to recording his 15th win.
He is in his full form and is confident to display some enormous scoring. He will tee-off at 10:35 am on Thursday.
Jimenez, the 48-year-old Spaniard, will be facing Woods for two rounds. He will have to play against his tough and challenging strokes.
One mistake can have quite an adverse effect on his position in the Masters.
He has faced many hurdles while winning the professional events since 2010. Unfortunately, he has never won any major title, however, he finished seven tournaments among the top-10 leaderboard players.
Sang-moon, the 25-year-old South Korean, is a rising star. He has won 11 professional events, three on the Asian Tour, three in Japan and five other wins.
He will be playing his debut Masters this year. This may be a challenging situation for the new lad, Sang-moon, as he will be competing against other top professionals.
He does not have much experience and plays an average game. Hence, he may lack behind in scoring well at the toughest course in the US, Augusta.
The other group comprises of Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan and Peter Hanson. They will tee-off late and a competitive game is also expected from these three professionals.
Luke Donald, Francesco Molinari and Nick Watney will show their game in one group after Woods’ group.
Donald is the current no.1 ranked golfer and has ample chances to win the first major.
Rory McIlroy, who lost last year’s event, due to the mediocre performance in the final round, is also in the field. He will play along Angel Cabrera and Bubba Watson.
Hence, the field is tough and all the players will have to deliver their best. A huge crowd is also expected at Augusta and Charl Schwartzel will be defending his title.
