Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy or Luke Donald, who is the top bet at the US Open?
The US Open is close by, as the top golfers from all over the world prepare to mark their presence at this year’s mega event.
The last two months have been extremely entertaining for the fans around the world, as major changes have been observed in golf and its players.
The young and very talented Rory McIlroy lost his World number one rank. His life saw a down fall for the first time in his entire career, as he has only seen glory previously. It was when he was spotted dating a European tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
His relationship with Wozniacki caused McIlroy to get his eye off his profession. This caused him his number one spot and his prestige. After Nicklaus elaborated the factors why McIlroy was out of touch, the world saw him winning the St. Jude Classic.
Luke Donald has been invincible. The time when McIlroy was heard bragging about his quality of play and claiming that he is the best in the world, Donald was quietly crafting his moves to obtain the number one spot.
Donald proved that focus is a compulsion as a golfer crafts his play. He proved that while being focused, he got the missing link in his game and he is now the best player in the world.
Let us bring out point of focus on Tiger Woods now. This man has been facing criticism from all ends. After displaying a very bad form for a long time, Woods came back at the Memorial Tournament with amazing resilience and won the tournament.
Woods was given a lesson by “The Golden Bear”, who believed in the Tiger of golf and saw him in the future games as a winner.
“I suspect (major title) No. 15 will come for Tiger Woods in about two weeks, if he drives the ball this way, and plays this way, I'm sure it will. And if not, it will surprise me greatly,” said Nicklaus concluding Woods and his upcoming US Open battle.
All of these golfers have immense talent and the drive to become the best, yet, the only factor that will make one of them stand out from the rest is “consistency”.
