Tiger Woods all set to make a comeback – Golf update
To answer all the rumors and speculations regarding his bad form and after having his career being dubbed as almost over by the press, Tiger Woods gave a strong statement to assure his fans that he is not done yet. Woods wrote on his blog that he is making
progress with his new coach Sean Foley, who has been a victim of criticism from most critics.
“I'm light years ahead of where I was at the end of last summer," the former world number one wrote on his blog. Tiger, who is now ranked at number five in the world rankings and is without a win for the last 18 months, had to make an early exit in last
week’s WGC Accenture Match Play Championship when he lost to his old friend Thomas Bjorn in the first round. Woods was frustrated with his loss which was quite evident from his disposition after the match.
"Obviously it was pretty frustrating to lose to Thomas Bjorn on the 19th hole. People focus on the bad tee shot I hit, but that's not the only reason I lost.” Woods wrote, "I hit two terrible pitch shots on the back nine and have worked hard to change my
release with my chipping. We'll see if it pays off at Doral."
Many of the big guns of the sport from the past had come out recently suggesting that woods should drop the coach he has and should revert back to his former playing style. Lee Trevino, Lanny Wadkins and many others have criticized his present coach Foley
and have said that woods knows the game better than his coach.
Woods has recently moved into his new home in Jupiter Florida, installed with new cutting-edge practice technology. About the championship ahead Woods wrote, "It's one of the tougher courses we play, especially when the wind blows. There are some good risk-and-reward
holes, so you can get it going if your game is sharp,”
The ace golfer is struggling to regain his form after his career plunged in a down ward spiral when several scandals concerning his private life were made public. Woods is currently preparing for the WGC Cadillac Championship next month in Miami.
