Tiger Woods’ coaches launch in a verbal bout – Golf news
Tiger Woods’ former coach, Hank Haney and the present swing coach, Sean Foley came out lashing at each other, accusing the other of Woods’ present bad spat. This war of words is particularly worst timed as the former World Number One is trying hard to regain
his past glory.
The Independent.co.uk brought the incident to the light of the day when Foley reportedly termed Woods previous coach Haney as ‘unprofessional’. He further went ahead and quoted in one of his comments on the Golf.com, “There was nothing about what
he [Tiger] was doing in his previous swing that made any sense to me.”
It did not take much time that Haney shot back and Twitted, “If you want to be entertained go to Golf.com and read Sean Foley's latest version of ripping Hank Haney. All I can say is 'wow'.”
That was not all. Haney did not stop there and furthur added, “Sean Foley = clueless, He is sure he has the answers and no one else does.”
Woods, on several occasions has spoken of the necessary improvements he needed to bring in his swing in order to get back to the winning track. Foley, who also coaches Justin Rose and other young players, has been facing scathing criticism for the past few
weeks, especially when the big wigs of the sport , Lee Trevino and Lanny Wadkins spoke against him.
Foley said, “They say, 'How does Tiger Woods struggle when he's in the hunt? Look at what he did for so long?' Well these are new days. New times. You're probably an invalid if you don't think what he went through hasn't affected his belief system.”
The current WGC Cadillac Championship and the Masters right ahead are crucial, if ever Woods wants to make a comeback. He has already plunged to World Number Five and is without a win for the last 16 months. Many critics are of the view that the continuation
of his present struggling form for the next few months will probably seal his career forever.
