Tiger Woods falters at Tavistock Cup
Team Albany finished on the last, as Tiger Woods was unimpressive in the final round of the Tavistock Cup at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, Orlando, Florida.
The 36-year-old American professional golf player scored equal to par in the second round of the event on March 21, 2012.
He was unable to support his team’s scores and displayed a below average performance. Albany finished on the last position, scoring a 26-under par.
Lake Nona is the proud winner of the tournament and recorded an impressive score of a 41-under.
The four-time winning and defending team again finished on the top and added another victory this year.
All the six players, Ben Curtis, Ross Fisher, Retief Goosen, Peter Hanson, Graeme McDowell and Gary Woodland played tremendously well and supported their team’s scoring.
Their amazing strokes and appealing birdies cheered all the spectators and Lake Nona defeated the team Isleworth by two strokes.
Woods was playing with five players, namely, Tim Clark, Ian Poulter, Ernie Els, Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman.
They all played well in the first round on Monday, but were unable to continue their usual performance on Tuesday.
In the first round, Woods and Rose scored a 9-under, Clark and Els scored an 8-under and Poulter and Immelman recorded a -6.
Hence, the first round was far better. Team Albany was a 23-under and was in a better position at the end of the day.
However, all the players faced different hurdles to score at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in round-two.
Only two out of six players played well. Els scored a 5-under and Rose -2, whereas Clark, Woods and Immelman were equal to par. Poulter messed up the team scores by carding a 4-over par.
Woods played golf after a nine-day lay-off, as he got injured while playing the final round of the Cadillac Championship.
He has recovered now and displayed a healthy game in Florida. However, he is facing difficulty scoring and carding birdies.
He has big plans for the first major this year in April, but his performance is not so impressive.
There is a possibility that he can record a better finish at the Masters, if he improves his golfing skills before April.
