Tiger Woods gaining support from Sean Foley
Sean Foley has decided to support his client Tiger Woods to save him from the media hype, as the golf prodigy usually comes under fire from different circles, every time he participates in tournaments.
Recently, Woods missed the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship. He was unable to impress the spectators as he posted poor scores at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He started the round on Thursday early in the morning. He carded his first bogey on the very first hole of the course, and then made a birdie.
He added two more bogeys and three birdies.
Woods shot a 1-under 71 in the first round. Then in the second round, he registered an equal-par on the front nine holes. Then he carded three bogeys and two birdies till the end of the day. Woods scored a 1-over 73 on Friday and missed the cut.
There was a huge criticism after that tournament, which made his swing coach Foley to speak in favour of the American golf player.
"I know everyone has a job to do, and I get it," Foley said "But if it is about the game of golf, Tiger Woods is an extremely important part of the game, and I think everyone understands that. It has just gotten to the point where the tearing down of Tiger
as a person and a golfer has become just too much. I think it is just out of hand".
"That is basically one thing I want to get out," Foley said. "Tiger is a wonderful person, and he is a good dude, and he lives a complex life. I think things have got to slow down, and it has got to stop, the daily referendums and the criticism".
Woods currently ranks 7th in world rankings, as he recorded amazing finishes in the current year. After scandals in the 2008 season, the 14-time grand slam winner was unable to perform well on the course and lost all his hopes. However, he is
back in form once again, thanks to consistency.
Foley's support for Woods is right. He also said that all the Woods's followers, media and lovers should have been patient on the golfing star's issue. The 36-year-old American star is delivering his best. He has ample chances to take the leading position
again, if he plays with full commitment.
