Tiger Woods holds an online session for his fans
The 14-time major winner Tiger Woods had an online session with his fans at the Olympic Club on Tuesday where he talked about his recent swing changes and preparations for the US Open, scheduled from June 14 to 17, 2012.
Woods has not been able to break 40th place mark in the last three tournament he played.
During the first three months of the 2012 golf season, Woods succeeded in recording four top-five finishes collectively, on the PGA and European Tours, including a win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Thereafter, he participated in the Masters Tournament and tied for the 40th position.
Following the Masters, he missed the cut in the Wells Fargo Championship and once again tied for the 40th spot in the Players Championship.
He said that he was having some trouble with the swing technique. However, he now believes that a little extra effort and practice will help him gain the form that allowed him to end his two-year winning drought on the PGA Tour this year.
"We're excited about what we're working on. I hadn't played well in a couple of weeks but we know what it is," Woods said of problems in his swing that have been addressed by him and swing Coach Sean Foley. "It's a matter of getting reps in and getting the
trust in it".
During the online session, he took questions from his fans and answered them one by one.
After the session, he headed for Muirfield Village to participate in the Memorial tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus, who holds the record of 18 major wins in his career.
Woods needs to win another four to level the record, which he believes may take his complete career to achieve that mark.
"I figure it's going to take a career," Woods said. "It took Jack 24 years. This is my 17th year into it. I still feel like I've got plenty of time. It's about giving myself the most amount of opportunities to win them on the back nine on Sunday. The more
chances I give myself, I figure I'm going to clip a few of them".
This was the second time during the current season that Woods preferred to have a session with the fans instead of talking to the reporters.
