Tiger Woods in the words of Hank Haney - Golf News
Hank Haney, former swing coach of the legendary golf player Tiger Woods, has announced that his tell-all book "The Big Miss" will go on sale on March 27, 2012.
The book contains Hank’s experience with Woods as a coach. "I get asked all the time about Tiger, what it was like to work with him," Haney said in an interview.
"I felt like I had a front row seat to golf history. It just kind of chronicles a little bit of what I went through, what I dealt with, how I coached and the observations I made. I think there are a lot of things that people are going to find interesting,"
Haney shared about the book.
He, in conjunction with Jaime Diaz, chose the date of sale a week prior to the start of the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.
Haney remained Woods's coach as long as the former world number one remained in his best form, winning most of the events he participated in, till a s*x scandal toppled him from his glory.
His coaching stint includes six major wins and 23 other tournament wins for Tigers Woods during the six-year tenure, spanning from 2004 to 2010.
His debut with Woods came in the 2004 Bay Hill Invitational while the last event they played together was the 2010 Masters.
Haney remained with and around Woods more than anyone else, even his family, during the period he served him.
"I was on that job for six years. There were 110 days a year I was with him. I stayed at his house for close to 30 days a year. You make a lot of observations," Haney said.
When he was asked about Woods's s*x scandal, he replied by saying that he was unaware of it. He also avoided writing about it in the book.
However, he has mentioned his return from the scandal to the game after five months of absence from the golf scenario.
Tiger Woods may not feel good about the timings of the release of the book to the public as he must enter the Masters with a clear mind.
According to some observers, the sale of the book may distract Woods's attention, as he is gearing up to win his first major since the 2008 US Open win.
