Tiger Woods insists he is ready to play on a weekly basis – Golf News
Tiger Woods has said that he is, once again, back in shape to contend on a weekly basis in tournaments around the world.
Despite injuries and a poor performance on the PGA Tour, he still believes that he is making improvements in every aspect of his game.
He got off to a strong start on the 2012 PGA Tour season and recorded some really good finishes including a win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.
Thereafter, the golf fans witnessed him slump once again, as he tied for the 40th position in each of the Masters Tournament and Players Championship.
Moreover, he also missed the cut in the Wells Fargo Championship at the Quail Hollow Country Club.
He is currently playing the AT&T National promotional event at the Congressional Country Club where he insisted that he will soon return to the form that earned him numerous wins all across the world.
"I think I'm headed in the right direction," he said. "I'm going to try and continue to improve in incremental steps in every facet of my game and try to make every facet of my game more efficient".
According to Woods, his performance cannot be judged on the basis of three events he played following his win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
He believes that if he succeeds in what he is doing to improve his game, the time is not far away when he will start winning the tournaments again.
"I've just played three events - I won a tournament (four) tournaments ago," Woods said. "If I get more efficient at what I'm doing, then I'm going to win golf tournaments".
Woods has a good track record at Congressional and he won the 2009 edition of the tournament as his best performance.
Last year, the tournament was moved to suburban Philadelphia in order to make preparations for staging the US Open at the venue.
Woods did not appear in the tournament due to injury issues and meanwhile, Rory McIlroy became the second youngest golfer after him to record a major championship victory.
