Tiger Woods looking to bag the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
It is time that the PGA Tour heads towards the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. This is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour. The venue for this event is the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. The four-day event is going to start on the 2nd
of August and is going to end on the 5th of August.
At this stage, the best in the world of golf are going to battle it out for glory. Players are going to give it their best and would be leaving nothing at chance. Many players have even arrived at the course a bit earlier so that they can practice and get
familiar with the course.
One of the players who is going to be under the spot light is Tiger Woods. Without a doubt, every golf fan is anxious to see him play at the Firestone Country Club and he is likely to be having the biggest gallery.
Tiger Woods has made quite a reputation for himself on this particular course. He has managed to come out victorious last seven of thirteen times when the PGA Tour came to this course.
If Woods manages to bag one more at this venue and make his record here 8-14, then he will be breaking quite a few records. He will have the record of being the first player to win eight times on the same course on the PGA Tour.
This win at the Firestone will also ensure that his name is written in the history books alongside Sam Snead. Snead has the record of being the only player who has won the same tournament eight times.
He won the Greater Greensboro Open titles eight times in his 27 years of professional golf but he won at two different venues.
Tiger Woods still has a few good years left in professional golf. In this time, he is going to get many chances to bag his eighth event at the same venue. It is just a matter of time before Woods breaks the record.
Currently, he is in good form and as always, he is one of the top contenders for the trophy. He just might be able to do it this year.
