Tiger Woods losing sight in Australia
Where yesterday ended on a good note for the former top cat of golf, things don’t look so good anymore. During the second round of the Australian Masters, Tiger Woods finished at one over 72 in seventeenth place at the Victoria Golf Club.
Woods is now nine shots behind Adam Bland. His return Down Under is not going as good as he will definitely try to catch up in the third round.
In rainy conditions today, Woods gave consecutive bogeys on the back nine and didn’t give himself many opportunities for birdies. Had Woods posted any birdies, he would have saved himself from a disappointing finish.
Last year, the Australian Masters was won by Tiger Woods. Woods wants to win this tournament not only to defend his title, but also to have at least one win this season. If he doesn’t win, it would be the first time in 15 years that Woods had had a winless
season.
The revelations of his extra marital affairs right after his win in Australia really affected Woods emotionally and professionally as well. His game did get affected from his family problems, which was evident from his performance in the WGC Bridgestone
invitational. Woods came in 78th position in that event and posted his career worst score.
Woods and ex-Mrs. Woods, Elin Nordegren, tried to resolve their differences but the couple finally called it quits and got divorced in August. Not only did Woods lose his family this year, but also his number one ranking.
Lee Westwood was successful in dethroning Woods in the end of October from something that was his for five years. Many players were in contention for Tiger’s spot but Lee was the one who was successful.
Robert Allenby, who has won the Australian Masters two times, said that Tiger was still someone to be scared of. He thinks that Woods is playing very well and is hard to beat if he uses his putting skills the right way.  Tiger Woods and Jim Herman are the
only two American players in this tournament.
Herman finished at 2 over in the second round. Bland managed to finish the round with a 4-under 67 and had a two shot lead over Andre Stolz. Stolz finished at 67 as well. The morning star of the show, Sergio Garcia, gave his best score of the year for him,
with a 65 and is only four strokes from the leader.
The second round is still going on with about ten more players left to go.
