Tiger Woods making it into Honda Classic with struggling putts and swings
Legendary golf player Tiger Woods is aiming to make a return at the Honda Classic.
However, the golfer, after taking a long time to return, is still facing complications, especially with his putts and swings.
After apparently resolving all his health related and domestic complications, Woods made it into Pebble Beach, but lost to his long-time rival Phil Mickelson.
He missed the 5-birdie putt on the second hole to provide his opponent with the advantage of victory.
The golfer had no other option, but to putt the last hole on 75. "I could not get comfortable where I could see my lines," he said. "I couldn't get the putter to swing".
It was just not at Pebble Beach where he faced problems. The issues continued to take place when he started to tee off at World Matchplay.
When playing against Nick Watney, he faced similar problems when he missed two birdie putts within the 10 feet circle.
However, he was still able to rescue the game by making another birdie putt, this time within the 5 feet circle on the 18th hole to closely clinch victory.
Apart from this, it is interesting to mention that none of the putts he made touched the hole. "I should be able to fix it in a day," Woods said.
According to pundits, it is important for Woods to overcome his swinging shortcoming as soon as possible. This is because he is being viewed as the hottest contender for the upcoming Honda Classic.
As disclosed by the organising committee, the pre-sales of the event have already boosted 34%, once the news regarding the participation of Woods was verified.
However, a player like Tiger Woods can never be underestimated. He has always been a danger and will continue to behave in a similar manner.
On the other hand, if his entire career timeline is assessed, it can easily be observed that he has never made exceptionally high putts or birdies.
He is accustomed to making small shots and intends to score with these shots. Also, the problem with his swinging is because of the recent medical complications he encountered.
