Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus – Who is better?
In the past, there have been many great players, who took the world of golf by storm. Since the start, there have been those who have made tremendous amount of contributions for golf and have raised it to the level at which it is right now.
Talking about achievements and trophies, there are two players who come on the very top, who have done so much and achieved so much that they have no parallel. The two players are Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
It is very hard to say that one is better than the other. In fact, both are the best in all aspects of golf. These are the players who have given the game a new status and sufficient amount of fame.
Jack Nicklaus turned professional in the year 1961 and at the time, he was of 21 years old. In his career, he bagged a very impressive 115 professional wins.
Out of these 115 wins, he got 73 just from the PGA Tour. Till now no player has won more PGA Tours than Nicklaus.
Moreover, there is still no player who even comes close to the number of major victories of Nicklaus. He won his first major just one year after turning professional.
In the year 1962 he won the U.S. Open and after that, he won seventeen other majors. Currently, he has the record of the most majors in a career.
After achieving his goal in professional golf, the great legend started playing on the Senior PGA Tour. There, he won ten times and he also managed to bag 8 senior majors as well. By the year 1974, he was already in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
From the very start, Tiger Woods has impressed the fans with his game. Till now, he has achieved so much that presently he has no equal in golf.
Woods has excelled a great deal in a very less time. He has the honour of being the highest paid athlete in the world.
Till now, Woods has been able to record 101 professional wins to his name. Out of these 101 wins, 74 came from the PGA Tour. The great American professional golfer won his first major title at the age of 21 and he has bagged 13 other major wins so far.
Nevertheless, Jack Nicklaus is on top, having most major titles and in this aspect, Woods comes on the number two spot with 14 majors.
All the facts put in front, Nicklaus may look more impressive than Woods on paper but the reality is that, at the moment, Woods is 36 years old and he himself believes that he has 10 more good years of golf.
In this time, he can achieve so much and even break the records of the legendary player, Jack Nicklaus.
It is just a matter of time before Woods surpasses him and claims the throne of the most major wins. Keeping this aspect in mind, Woods is the best player of all time and till now has no equal.
