Tiger Woods out from Match Play Championship, eyes the Honda Classic
Tiger Woods was eliminated from the Accenture Match Play Championship, making sure he will now head back to his hometown, Florida, to participate in the Honda Classic.
Nick Watney eliminated him by 1-up scores and now he is planning to reach Florida. Tigermania is at its peak.
Every eye is waiting for the former world No. 1 at the PGA National Champion Course, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
"I've heard great things about the Honda Classic and now that I live here in Florida I want to play whenever possible," Woods Said. "Jack Nicklaus's involvement in the tournament and the benefits to the local community are also important".
The Honda Classic is ready to welcome leading players from across the world. The field is yet to be completed, but Woods has confirmed his schedule, which includes the Honda Classic.
The 14-time grand slam winner will play the tournament after 19 years. Last time, Woods played the event as an amateur.
Spectators and his fans are going crazy to see their favourite player on the Floridia golf course.
The ticket sale has reportedly reached its peak. On the other hand, the tournament officials are planning to halt the weekend ticket sale.
The Floridian native expressed his views and said that he had heard a lot about this PGA-staged event and will definitely be playing in the current season.
Woods, who is best known for his 14 major titles, is quite hopeful of winning the event. However, the field is expected to tougher and more competitive due to the participation of big names.
In order to record his first professional win at Honda Classic, he needs to show some extra efforts.
"I'm excited about my start and look forward to keep building," said Woods. "I've made great strides from last year and hopefully all my hard work will pay off with a victory soon".
He has been facing tough times since 2009, as he has failed to win a big event. However, he is now more determined than ever to make his way back to the top spot.
Woods has hundreds of fans here and they have planned to flock to the PGA National Champion Course to support the Floridian native.
The four-day tournament will begin from March 1 to 4, with an overwhelming number of spectators on the course.
