Tiger Woods ready for the British Open, it did not go very well for the Tiger at the US Open!
The British Open is lurking by as Tiger Woods remains the top bet to win the tournament with his average finish at the US Open.
Woods came back with a bang at the Memorial and ended up with a triumphant victory. It was believed that the Tiger of golf is back and he would knock the US Open with one thing in mind, victory.
The US Open started off with Woods taking the lead after the 2nd round. On the other hand, Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald were packing their bags to leave the US Open with embarrassment and agony.
It was an utter misery to witness McIlroy complaining about the course and not considering his bad form in the US Open.
“It's just so tough here if you put yourself out of position at all, it's tough to make your pars from there, I was just too many times in the wrong position off the tee or with my second shot. When you're trying to play catch-up on this golf course, it's
very hard,” said the world number 2.
It is a routine these days and golfers have been criticising the courses here and there after they end up failing at their craft. Bubba Watson was also among the golfers who blamed the course being too tough for his calibre.
Woods fell apart after giving an excellent showdown in the first three rounds of the US Open. The former world number one finished with a bad score and Webb Simpson became the US Open champion.
It was frustrating for Tiger but he took it in the right manner. He is pleased with his performance and considers the US Open play as a step forward to betterment.
“There’s a lot of positives to be taken away, I just gotta apply them,” said Woods after the US Open.
There is improvement but is it enough? This question will get an answer at the upcoming British Open.
The British Open can make or break Tiger Woods. It has become a compulsion for the former icon to win the tournament to regain his lost pride as the world’s most loved golfer.
