Tiger Woods ready to roar again in this week’s WGC-Cadillac Championship - PGA Tour Update
Former world number one, Tiger Woods is practicing hard before the Professional Golfer’s Association Tour event of the WGC-Cadillac Championships starting from this week and is hoping to make a strong comeback. Last year in the Ryder Cup, he won all the
points for his team USA, but still lost to Europeans. This week will be a different one for him, as his coach Sean Foley is expecting him to produce brilliance on the field against all the opponents.
Woods has been out of touch for the past sixteen months and now even critics are there to highlight him in the headlines. He feels much more confident going into the tournament this week and is hoping that things go in the right direction for him. The four-time
Masters winner has not had a single top-10 finish in the three tournaments he has played this year and was disappointed in the Dubai Desert Classic where he had a chance of taking a victory. As his misery continues with him, he also saw his name slipping on
the rankings to the number five spot.
In his recent interview with the media, Woods said, "It is very hard to adjust back to the old swing and I am working on it since the past few days with Sean. But as I have had a dreadful run since the past couple of months, I have to move forward to forget
all my mistakes. The most challenging will be my adjustment of hitting the ball and stroking the ball on the greens.” The 35-year-old further added that he will surely be winning a major this year to improve his record further.
Tiger has already won this WGC-Cadillac Championship six times. If he wins this week, this will be his seventh win and 72nd PGA Tour victory. He last won this championship almost three years back when it was sponsored by American Express.
It was two years back in November, 2009 when the champion was in the spotlight of all the journalists as indiscretions in his personal life was disclosed in front of the media. All the supporters and the world were shocked by this news. A few sponsors also
denied continuing further with Woods and it was an embarrassment for the player. He then made a long awaited comeback to the golfing arena last year at the Masters where he finished tied for the fourth spot. Since then, there has not been much improvement
in his game.
The 14-time major winner recently moved in his new house in Florida and was excited about his specially designed practice facility. The practice facility is specifically designed so that his concentration remains on golf, rather than on other co-curricular
activities. Much is expected from him this week and his fans are hoping that he will finally roar again on the field.
