Tiger Woods remains favourite despite defeats
Tiger Woods might not be doing exceptionally well on the golf course, but when it comes to fame and popularity, he is still unparallel to any of his competitors.
There remains no doubt about the fact that his performance at the World Match Play, held recently, and previously at the Pebble Beach, was immensely disappointing for his fans as well as for golf pundits.
He said that he has been going through constant complications related to his putts and swing skills.
His fans expected that after a long wait, Woods would have something more exciting and entertaining for them.
However, results proved to be otherwise with the legendary golfer making his debut at the World Match Play in a battling manner against Nick Watney.
Once again, it was his poor putting that disqualified him from the event. As if all of this was not enough, the upcoming launch of the book ‘The Big Miss’ is making matters worse for him.
Penned by his former swing coach, Hank Haney, the book has made disclosures about Woods’ personal and professional life.
When asked about the book, Woods could only say that he would not like to comment anything on it. He further added that his disappointment with Haney has still not altered.
Leaving the book affair to be handled by his agent Mark Steinberg, Woods once again became busy to engage himself in acquiring the appreciation and warmth that people still have for this legendary golfer.
Even after his not so impressive performance at Honda Classic, he was still awaited by people looking forward for his autograph.
It is also important to mention here that, unlike his major competitors in terms of record, he is often compared with Jack Nicklaus.
However, according to pundits, an important point that they marginalised is that during his peak career from 1962 till 1998, Nicklaus was miraculously immune to all kind of injuries.
It was due to this reason that he was able to perform exceptionally well. On the other hand, Woods has not been facing a similar situation.
His professional and personal life has been plagued with numerous problems, all of which have adversely affected his game.
