Tiger Woods returns to action with improved ball striking technique – Golf News

The 14-time major champion, Tiger Woods, will be returning to action when he tees off at the Wells Fargo Championship at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte on Thursday, May 3, 2012.
Woods recently commented on his ball striking technique, saying he is back in shape and hitting the balls pretty well.
Last month, he faltered in the Masters Tournament because of several mistakes that he made at the Augusta National Golf Club.
Throughout the Masters, he battled to break the par 72 but failed in each of the four rounds that he played.
As a result, he suffered the worst ever finish of his career in the Masters Tournament. He tied for the 40th position after carding a five-over par tournament score.
Therefore, he took a week off following the Masters appearance and started working on his swing afterwards, with his swing coach Sean Foley.
“At the Masters, I was kind of struggling with my ball-striking a little bit,” Woods said during a question and answer session with his fans on his website on Monday.
“Sean and I fixed it. It had to do with my posture. My setup wasn't quite right, as well as my takeaway so we worked on that. I just needed to do hundreds of (repetitions). I'm getting dialed in”.
When he was asked about his chances of a win in the upcoming tournament, he said that he is confident that he will remain in his best shape.
“I feel like I do, yes. I feel like if I can do the things that we've been working on, and get my posture and my takeaway dialed in, then yes, I have a good chance,” he said.
Woods has played a total of six events on the 2012 PGA Tour so far and has recorded two top-10 finishes, including a win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
In addition to that, he was also tied for the fourth place in the Tavistock Cup, which is an unofficial event of the PGA Tour.
Therefore, he is pretty much back in his form, especially after a couple of years that put him completely out of the golfing scene.
