Tiger Woods roars dominance at the US Open, the rest complain about the course!
Tiger Woods has struck back at his critics by giving an outstanding and arguably the best performance in the first round of the US Open.
Among players like Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson, Woods stood out as the best man in the first round. Donald was the worst among the rest, as he could not get a single birdie and ended up with a bad score.
Woods has gone through plenty of criticism from all corners previously. His comeback at the Memorial Tournament with a magical flip-shot birdie saw him getting back to his level best once again.
Fans are delighted all over the globe to see a global phenomenon reclaiming his throne and marching towards greatness once again.
His play had plenty of precision and in depth analysis of the course. It is important for a golfer to analyse the course before planning a strategy and Woods did that. This is the reason why Woods is just three points behind the leader Michael Thompson.
Woods was satisfied with his performance at the US Open’s opening round and admitted analysing the course before identifying his game plan.
“I felt like I had control of my game all day. I'm really excited how I was able to execute my game plan all day today. The golf course was really quick... We knew the greens were going to be a little quicker, but I didn't think they would be this firm this
early in the week. So we had to make a couple of adjustments with that,” said Woods.
Bubba Watson was extremely disappointing in his first round as his focus and his precision fell apart. However, he was in love with the show Woods displayed and praised him with high notes.
“That was the old Tiger, that was beautiful to watch,” said Watson, praising Tiger’s play.
Top-2 in the world Donald and McIlroy had poor starts to the US Open, as both were out of focus. The only aspect they were vocal about was the course. They blamed the course for being a little too tough.
Tiger Woods is back and he is hitting high notes with his excellent form. If he continues with the current attitude and game-play, he will become invincible just like the old times.
