Tiger Woods struggles to putt the ball well in the Australian Masters
The opening round of the Australian Masters golf event, which is being held in Melbourne, was not at all satisfying for the world number two and defending champion for the tournament, Tiger Woods. The American veteran has once again failed to impress his fans as he finished the day's play with a disappointing four strokes behind the point's leader.
The thirty four years old golfing ace finished the day at sixty nine under par and endured a gloomy day as he struggled to putt the ball well. Woods tried hard but it seemed it was one of his unlucky days.
After the first round of the Australian Masters at Victoria golf course the former world number one seemed pretty upset with his performance. Woods told the media that if he could have had putted the ball better it would have made a strong difference in the result of the day's play. While talking about his performance the thirty four years old told the media that he is very well aware of the fact that compared to his performance in Shanghai he hasn't played well but he is just four shots behind the point's leaders and will try his level best to shorten the lead.
The Victoria golf course, meanwhile, seemed to help the Australian golfers a lot. The first day of the tournament was thoroughly dominated by the three talented Australians, Daniel Gaunt, Adam Bland and Alistair Presnell. The three Aussies carded a tremendous sixty nine under par to top the standings table.
In a very recent interview Woods has also expressed his target of taking the world number one title back from his arch rival Englishman Lee Westwood. Victory in the Australian Masters tournament will definitely act as a strong motivating factor crucial for the challenge ahead.
Tiger Woods has finally found a better playing form but it will still take him some time to regain his lost glorious form. After the Australian Masters golf event Woods will participate in the Chevron World Challenge golf tournament. With innumerable fans with high expectations, Woods has a tough journey up ahead.
