Tiger Woods takes to the airwaves to discuss his eventful yearKeeping up with his recent efforts to open up to his fans, Tiger Woods took to the airwaves for a 20-minute interview onMike and Mike in the Morning, an ESPN radio program, on Thursday 18 November. The radio appearance came the day after he started actively using his Twitter account and an article written by him entitled “How I’ve Redefined Victory” showed up on theNewsweek website.Woods said during the interview that his priorities in life have shifted after suffering through a tumultuous year that saw him lose three major sponsors and his wife, Elin Nordegren, the mother of his two children. The controversy began with Woods crashing his car last November at his home in Florida, followed by admissions of infidelity. On the radio show, Woods said he is an “infinitely” happier person now than he was a year ago."[I'm] just more clear, more clear about my perspective, who I am, where I want to go," he said. "It's amazing how much better I feel internally each and every day."When Woods looks back on the mistakes he made in the past, he doesn’t like what he sees. "I wasn't happy with who I was. I was doing things morally, inside, I knew I shouldn't be doing."Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg said his client’s new desire to open up to his fans has been a good thing for him. "It's a positive step for him. He's making the effort to do some things different."During the radio interview, Woods said his two young children are the top priority in his life, adding that he would be honest with them when he explains what happened over the past 12 months. He admitted they may not take it so well at first."I will have to earn the trust and respect of my kids over time," he said.Woods went winless this year for the first time in 14 years, losing his number-one ranking to Lee Westwood in late October. He has 14 major titles, four off the record held by Jack Nicklaus.
