  1. A tiger is not just a bit stronger than a human but far more stronger.

So if it is stronger it will do far better than humans.

  2. Actually, I would guesstimate its about 5 to 10 times stronger than an average man. Not with bench press though. Tigers have paws, not hands.

  3. I couldn't tell you how much weight a tiger would benchpress, but I can tell you that they are far, far stronger than human beings - even ten times stronger is a conservative figure. A tiger can take down a gaur weighing over 2000lbs and drag the carcass away, or break the neck of a deer (or human) with a single blow of its paw.

Your Outhouse doesn't know what he/she is talking about - all cats are extremely strong, particularly those, like tigers, which have evolved to kill prey considerably larger than themselves. Their skeletons are quite small compared to the size of the animal - most of their size comes from their enormous muscles. Bears, by contrast, have large, heavy skeletons and a large amount of body-fat. They are certainly strong, but pound for pound cats are far stronger. I used to be a zookeeper, and can assure you that big cats are certainly not kept behind chain-link! They are kept behind heavy-duty bars or reinforced glass several inches thick, both of which are backed up by electric fencing.

  4. no way! they would easily be able to bench 200 kg, about the same as their weight.

  5. Tigers, like all cats, are not that strong in the world of animals.  The strongest predators are the bears.  Among the strongest animals as far as arm muscles are the Gorillas and Orangutans.  A large male Gorilla or Orangutan, for it's size, could out lift any strong man that's ever lived.  In the zoos, in their sleeping quarters, the Tigers, Lions, and Leopards are kept behind chain-link.  The bears and apes are kept behind bars (like jail bars).

But, the strongest animals on the planet, for their size, are the insects.  An ant could lift up a pebble so heavy, that to a human it would be like lifting an 18-wheeler diesel truck.  Think about it.

  6. you kidding, tigers are 10 times stronger than humans. their gigantic paws help them alot. id say they can bench theyre own weight.

  7. Next time you go to a zoo compare the girth and muscular build of a male tigers' forearms (yes that makes sense!) and shoulders with those of an average man. Lets say the average man is 85kg (187Lbs). An UNTRAINED man would find it very difficult to bench press his own weight, so lets say he manages 80kg (176Lbs). Now lets assume the tigers' bigger build and strength still only allows it to approach its own weight when pressing. I would say an average male tiger weight (including bengal and siberian) is about 210kg (463Lbs). So on this basis a tiger is about 2.5 times stronger than the average man. Of course this is pure conjecture and there are many forms of strength and the multiples will vary greatly when applied to each. You might say that trained weightlifters may lift more than the tiger, but remember I am comparing UNTRAINED with UNTRAINED, clearly a trained tiger would likewise be able to lift a lot more. I of course mean if any of this was possible ! But the short answer is that any adult tiger is more than a little stronger than the average adult human !
