Guus Hiddink has lamented Anzhi Makhachkala’s 0-0 draw in the Russian Premier League tie against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683’s performance
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Anzhi Makhachkala recorded a 0-0 draw against FC Rostov in a closely contested match at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala) on Sunday.
However, their latest draw in the league meeting has not affected their league position at the moment courtesy to the match officials who suspended Zenit St. Petersburg’s match against Dynamo Moscow on Saturday, following fans'
riot.
The referees had to abandon the match before half-time after the fans started to throw firecrackers on the pitch. The Dinamiki fans were earlier penalized after hitting White-Blues' players.
As things stand, the Dagestani club are at the 2nd spot on the league table and trial the leading spot by just five points.
In aftermath of the outcome, Guus Hiddink has lamented the latest draw and urged the Makhachkala-based club to work harder in the near future. The Dutch tactician told his side that they cannot afford to drop more points if they
are to win the league title this season.
And while most of the known football pundits have indicated tough schedule as the one of main reasons behind the Russian outfit’s dismal league run, Hiddink thinks that they should not blame the calendar for their slump in form.
“These things happen when you do not expect such results. But we played against a well-organized opponent that remained unfortunate not to take away any point in the league tie against the defending champions last week.”
“But we have to blame ourselves as we lacked enough power and creativity offensively. I somehow just think we played better football after organizing effective combinations. Busy schedule is not the justification for this draw
by any means.”
“We need to forget this result because we have crucial games ahead.” The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss was quoted as saying.
Commenting on Lacina Traore and Yuri Zhirkov performances, Hiddink revealed that Zhirkov is getting better with each match and went on to hail Traore’s performance against the Selmashi.
