Going to TJ November 26th, need the best locations for bars and nightlife and hotels nearby. Taking a bus from San Diego to TJ airport. Should I book a hotel in advance or just wait till I get there?

  1. I'm a little confused. Are you going home for Thanksgiving to see family? Are you flying out of Tijuana airport on Thanksgiving day? Why are you taking a bus to the airport?

Unless you say otherwise, I'll go under the assumption that Thanksgiving is just a convenient holiday, and you want to party in Mexico. I'll also assume that the bus to the airport is just your way of getting to TJ conveniently.

There are not a lot of hotels near the airport (it's not like the USA). If you pay good money for a bus, you'll just have to take a taxi from the airport back to the hotel zones. You could just ride the trolley to the border, walk across, and grab a cab in Mexico. Buy your tequila on the US side in the duty free shops. It's cheaper. They will make sure you walk across the border and not try to drive back to San Diego.

Hotels are rarely full in TJ. I'm not sure what the effect of Thanksgiving is on occupancy. Five star hotels are suprisingly expensive in TJ. I don't think they are worth the money.

If you want to party like a drunken gringo in TJ (not that there is anything wrong with that) you can get a hotel while you are there. Just check in early in the evening so you don't have to do it late at night. The Hotel Nelson is a perennial favorite with gringos. It's clean but extremely plain 3 star hotel. It's pretty noisy, but it's right across the street from the Planet Hollywood and under the famous arch. It makes the hotel easy to find.

The tijuanese love "Plaza Fiesta" across from the mall.

  2. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU'RE IN TO , IF YOU LIKE HIP-HOP GO TO COKO BONGO

IF YOU LIKE TECHNO , ELECTRO , HOUSE , THEN GO TO ZOCALO OR THE ROCK

IF YOU GO TO ZOCALO MAKE SURE TO DRESS FOR SUCCESS CAUSE THE DRESS CODE IS INFORCED , NO SNEAKERS ALLOWED

THEY ALL HAVE MYSPACES SO CHECK THEM OUT

ALL THREE ARE OPEN BAR ON SATURDAYS , SO $20 GET YOU ALL YOU CAN DRINK TILL 2AM AT THE ROCK

AND 3AM AT COKO BONGO OR ZOCALO

THURSDAY NIGHTS AT PORKYS IS CRAZY $1.50 BEERS

    OR $4 40 OZ.'S  ALL NIGHT , THURSDAY IS 80'S NIGHT

SO THEY PLAY SOME SOFT CELL , THE POLICE , BEASTIE BOYS, 80'S NEW WAVE,  STUFF LIKE THAT AND ITS ONLY 2 DOLLARS TO GET IN , GET THERE EARLY CAUSE IT GETS PACKED BY AROUND 10 - 10:30

THE PUEBLO AMIGO INN IS A VERY NICE HOTEL THAT IS FAIRLY CLOSE TO MOST OF THE NIGHTLIFE IN TJ
