Tillakaratne Dilshan, the Sri Lankan captain, has lauded the young wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Chandimal, for his brilliant performance in the second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 at Durban.
A fifty in each innings of the game coupled with a fantastic job behind the stumps prompted Dilshan to lavish praise on the debutant. Chandimal made scores of 58 and 54 in both the innings, and grabbed three catches to leave a fine impression on the cricket
pundits.
His all-round performance helped the islanders register an empathic 208-run victory to square the series 1-1.
Fascinated by his effort, Dilshan said that the 22-year-old not only did a wonderful job with the bat and gloves, but also motivated the bowlers to give their best shot.
“It was not just his batting and his keeping, but Chandimal was encouraging the bowlers and fielders and giving ideas throughout the Test. He handles himself really well in the middle and is one of the greatest youngsters for the future of Sri Lankan cricket,"
said Dilshan.
The skipper was also impressed with the way Chandimal took the responsibility at the crease. Dilshan added that his responsible batting waved the pressure off the senior players, and steered the side to a good score in both innings.
Rating him as a future start, Dilshan backed the young wicket-keeper to continue performing well in the rest of the competition.
"Chandimal's two fifties and his involvement in two 100-run partnerships was fantastic. In 10 years' time, when we've all retired, we'll still be watching him and he will score 10000 runs in Test cricket," added the 35-year-old opening batsman who has captained

The Lankans were tip-toe after their embarrassing defeat at Centurion, but they bounced back well in the second game. The skipper was delighted with his team’s excellent show despite the immense pressure.
The two teams are now heading to Cape Town for the series decider, to be held from January 3-7 next year. And Dilshan is expecting his guys to exhibit similar show in the next game to record their first ever series win in South Africa.
