Tillakaratne Dilshan, the Sri Lankan skipper, has held his batsmen responsible for the team’s humiliating defeat by an innings and 81 runs in the opening Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
There are still a couple of games left in the series, and the skipper has asked his willow-wielders to improve their performance if the Islanders want to win the remaining matches.

Dilshan admitted that it was an ordinary show by the entire batting unit, and made it clear that the batsmen need to take more responsibility

"Our batting unit hasn't clicked. That's where we lost the game and, as a batting group, we definitely have to take responsibility. We've been working hard in the nets, but we're not carrying it into the middle," said Dilshan who is hoping of a better performance
by his batsmen in the second game, to be played at Durban.

“Both Mahela and Kumar have not been batting well over the last few months and we cannot wait much longer [for their return to form]. The run out was the turning point and if Mahela gets his 10,000 runs, then it will free his mind to play," added the 35-year-old
opening batsman who is yet to lead Sri Lanka to a Test series win.
Despite being worried about the pathetic recital by his batting department; Dilshan seemed satisfied with the way his bowlers performed in the last contest. He shared that the Lankan bowlers did a wonderful job by keeping the Proteas in check, and expected
the bowling attack to continue with the same fashion during the rest of the tour.
