Tillakaratne Dilshan determined to regain batting form – Cricket News Update

There has been a lot of criticism on Dilshan for not being able to lead his side to victories, but the veteran was not concerned about his captaincy. He said that the bigger problem for him was the poor batting form of the entire team.
Sri Lanka lost both the Test and One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) and the main reason for that has been the poor batting display by the team.
Before the start of the series, critics claimed that the tourists will not be able to bowl out Pakistan, especially in the longest version of the game due to their weak bowling line up.
However, the team was expected to do well in the batting department, as they had some quality players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397 and the skipper himself.
Although the Lankan bowlers did struggle to take wickets in the Test matches, it was the batting which really let the team down.
Commenting on his own form, Dilshan stated, “When I took over the captaincy, especially the first series, I got good runs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. Unfortunately I broke my finger and after that I didn't play for one-and-a-half months. From there I lacked confidence
and form and I am still struggling.”
The 35-year-old further added, “I go back to Sri Lanka and have three weeks to work on a few areas before South Africa to get back my form. I know I am good and I can get some runs in South Africa. It's better that we go back to the domestic season and everyone
plays at least two to three matches.”
After losing the Test and ODI series, Sri Lanka will be hoping of a positive show in the one-off Twenty20 game against the Men in Green which is scheduled to be played on Friday, November 25, 2011 in Abu Dhabi.
However, the hosts are in terrific form at the moment and have the winning momentum with them. This will make life difficult for the Sri Lankan side.
