Tilsworth Glenboy likely to thrive in Claygate Handicap
Tilsworth Glenboy is likely to deliver an excellent performance for the sake of finishing first in the Claygate Handicap (Betfair 10 Furlong Flat Series Qualifier), a Class 4 contest that will take place at Sandown racecourse on Thursday, June 7. The high-profile
race will commence at 9:00 (GMT).
The J. R. Jenkins-trained bay gelding has been in good form since the dawn of 2012. After getting a couple of consecutive thirds in April, the five-year-old veteran horse marvellously bagged two back-to-back triumphs in the first half of May.
First, the maverick sprinter won Havenholidayhomes.CO.UK Handicap on May 1 while being a 7-4 favourite. He ran in the Inkerman London Handicap with the same momentum and notched up top spot convincingly. He was again an 11-4 favourite for the race that was
held on May 11.
These were the best ever performances of the horse who began his career in November 2009. These classic victories spiked up the victor’s confidence level to a great extent.
The talented son of Doyen out of Chara finished 6th in his last outing on May 21. Following these outstanding marks, Tilsworth Glenboy seems to be confident to compete against 10 rivals such as The Tichborne, Significant Move, Top Diktat, Antarctic,
O Ma Lad, Cashpoint, Bloodsweatandtears, Choral Festival, Bouggatti and Edgware Road on the good to soft course of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 7 yards.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize worth £4,075.
Among Tilsworth Glenboy’s competitors, Antarctic is the runner who can fight well for victory. The John Gosden-trained novice gelding started his career with a magnificent victory on May 20, 2011. He went on to finish 5th against a dozen of contestants
in his second and last race on June 8.
Today, the young horse is going to run after a gap of a year. He is expected to stage a stunning comeback.
In this situation, there will be a rip-roaring clash at Sandown. The event will be thrilling enough, having many twists and turns. Let us see who manages to carry the day. Good luck to all the runners.
