Tim Boetsch: I will deliver a high amount of damage to Silva – UFC News
Tim Boetsch recently said that he wants to take on Anderson Silva for the UFC Championship. However, he thinks that he needs to bag one more victory in order to reach Silva.
Boetsch has won his last three fights against Yushin Okami at the middleweight level, which has made him confident of the fact that he can beat Silva. In his recent interview, Tim iterated, “I think he’s going to have Chael’s number this time. I think he’s
not going to make the same mistakes twice … especially after seeing Chael’s performance against [Michael] Bisping. I was surprised to see him get beat up that bad by Bisping. I think Chael’s probably going to end up getting knocked out by Anderson.”
Currently, Anderson Silva is scheduled to face Chael Sonnen on June 29 as part of the UFC 147 event. This will be the second fight between Silva and Sonnen. Sonnen had nearly taken down Silva previously and impressed everyone around. However, this time many
analysts along with Boetsch are of the view that Sonnen cannot do it.
On Sonnen’s performance in the previous fight, Boetsch said, “Chael showed a strong wrestler does well against him. The only thing that Chael failed to do was damage Anderson throughout the fight, and that’s kind of my specialty. I will deliver a high amount
of damage from start to finish, and that would make a huge difference in the outcome of the fight.”
Even though Tim has accepted the fact that Sonnen is a great fighter, he still thinks Sonnen cannot beat Silva. In fact, Tim thinks that by the time he will reach Silva, the latter will still be the champion and it will be the ultimate opportunity for him
to grab the title.
Tim added that he wants Silva to hold onto the title until he gets there. He further said that there is no doubt about the fact that Anderson is a legend, especially for UFC but then he has to lose one day. He added that he wants to be the guy to defeat
Anderson for the first time.
