Tim Bresnan, the English all-rounder, feels that his team is on the right track in the shorter formats of the game and credited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashley-Fraser-Giles-c46314 for the improvement.
In the 1990s and early 2000s, the Poms failed to deliver the goods at the highest stage of the game; however, England’s fortunes changed after their historic victory in the Ashes 2005 at home soil.
Since then, England have been a major force in Test cricket and over the last five years they have been doing extremely well in limited-overs sport as well, winning One Day International (ODI) series against
almost all the major cricketing nations at different venues. On top of that, the Poms clinched the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, which happens to be their only victory in a global tournament so far.
While talking about his team’s performances, Bresnan, who is an integral part of England’s limited-overs squads, said that Flower and Giles have been doing a great job.
The all-rounder said, “I think we've managed to do that to a point where if you look at the records under Andy Flower and now Ashley Giles, we've come on leaps and bounds in the last three or four years. It's
now a decent surprise when we lose a series.”
It needs to be remembered that Giles was appointed as England’s coach in the shorter formats of the game earlier this year as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) wanted to give some respite to Flower.
Bresnan further added that winning the World T20 in West Indies instilled a lot of confidence in the side.
“It started off with the Twenty20 win in Barbados in 2010. That gave us a lot of belief that we could consistently beat the best in the world in the shorter formats. We could back our openers, our power hitters
and our bowlers all the way through the innings,” he added.
